Things I learnt from an old movie (Post 3)

Hello there again lovely humans and disgusting monsters of planet Earth! I blog in peace..Why the space theme and why the "disgusting monsters"? Read on..

"Do I have to resort to (catastrophic) violence? As I see it's the only thing you humans can understand..."
Klaatu, The Day The Earth Stood Still (1951).

I agree with the "guy". In the story, Klaatu is an alien from outer space who comes to Earth and "suggested" to us humans to change our violent ways or be obliterated from existence. The alien, masquerading as a human, had so much trouble to get the humans united so he could deliver the message. In the end when he finally got our attention, he said that (during that time, 1951) humans are starting to advance in technology, mainly in weaponry and bombs, and he does not care if we humans "play with our silly toys among ourselves". Klaatu was afraid we train our missiles at other planets and worlds.

As much as I hate to admit it, Klaatu's right. Some humans are horribly blinded by greed, avarice and power, they don't really care if they harm another fellow human physically or mentally. In fact, most of them are not even bothered if thousands of innocent people are killed to get what they want, which are mainly, money, land and power. PLUS! The worst part is, most of these people are world "leaders" who think they can do as they please. Spoilt and corrupted leaders who people look up to. I haven't really get to the sad part yet, most of these leaders are from developing countries who really need a helping hand.

These leaders (can't say who) are smart in their own sinister way. They find reasons to wage war on neighbouring countries and more reasons to embezzle money from their own country for themselves. They basically cause more chaos to this already chaotic world. It also seems like these people have no guilt in their heart. No love for fellow humans except themselves.

If there's a villain, there should be a hero to make things better, if not neutralise. There are many people who try to make this world a better place to live in. People who dislike their peace being interrupted.

All I think is that the best thing to do instead of a war is to negotiate. Anyone can work out a deal where everyone's happy, can't they?

Some Quotes by great men who tried to change the world for the better.
"War may sometime seem like a necessary evil. But no matter how necessary, it is always an evil, never a good. We will not learn how to live together by killing each other's children"
-Jimmy Carter, 39th President of the United States.

"One day President Roosevelt told me that he was asking publicly for suggestions about what the war should be called. I said at once 'The Unnecessary War'."
-Sir Winston Churchill
